CALIFORNIA DATA CRUNCH: Aspire Public Schools is one of those charter networks that has worked hard to use data to drive best practices. Now it's rolling out a pilot program, Schoolzilla, that aims to let any California school superintendent, teacher or other educator decode the mess of standardized test data they receive by plotting it in more informative charts and graphs. Pass this along to your local school! The program is free during this pilot phase (through December 2011). Even better: if you really dig this kind of data crunch and want to help lead the Schoolzilla charge, there could be a job for you. Drop a note to nick.shalek@aspirepublicschools.org.
