SNEAKING TO THE HORIZON: The official NMC Horizon Report for 2012, the annual best effort of groups such as CoSN to identify top technology trends and challenges, isn't due out until June. You can take sneak peek at an 18-page "short list" here (but you'll have to create a free login for the site). Spoiler alert: the four technologies that make the short list to be implemented over the next year (or less) are: cloud computing, collaborative environments, mobile & apps, and tablet computing. Game-based learning and personal learning environments are still two to three years off. And a big challenge? Technology is still not adequately supporting personalized learning.
