Hisham Anwar is Co-Founder and Chief Strategy Officer of BrightBytes, overseeing all aspects of product, design, and research. Under his technical leadership, BrightBytes has grown its reach to over 25K schools around the world and continues to positively impact student outcomes as part of its core mission.
He spent the last 18 years building and managing technology platforms at startups and large enterprises, including Moody’s, Dorado, and the Royal Dutch Government. Before starting BrightBytes, Hisham led global technology infrastructure for Zynga games.
Hisham also mentors young entrepreneurs through UC Berkeley and MIT as well as judges the annual UC BigIdeas and MIT 100K entrepreneurship competitions.
He is an angel investor in social impact startups with a focus on big data and artificial intelligence and is actively involved with over a dozen groups covering these topics in Silicon Valley.
Son of a lifelong educator, Hisham spends his free time tutoring middle school and high school math students and dosens the districts Art in Action program. He has an MBA from MIT.
