Online Reading Tutor (K-8th grade)

BookNook is seeking passionate, equity-minded educators to join our tutoring community as independent contractors. We are mission-driven and quickly growing. 

Tutors will be on the front lines of closing the early learning gap for students who have lost vital time on task and mentorship during a key period of their educational journey. Tutors work virtually either one-on-one or with small groups of K-8 students in live, synchronous, online tutoring sessions using the BookNook platform. 

As a BookNook tutor, you will teach reading lessons online to groups of no more than 4 students. You will use BookNook’s learning platform and curriculum, which support you through lessons and show student performance in real-time.

Position Details

- $20/hour ($10 per 30-minute session)

- 1099-eligible Independent Contractor

- Up to 30 hours/week based on district schedules and program volume

Position Qualifications

- Must be at least 18 years old

- Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship

- 1+ years of teaching/tutoring experience 

- Online teaching/tutoring experience is preferred

- Access to a computer, webcam, and a reliable internet connection
