HEADING TO BALTIMORE: CWIST, which specializes in maker activities, has raised a $1.2 million to improve its products and sales capacity. SFP Capital and Sagamore Ventures led the round. With the investment also comes a new home: The company is moving its headquarters from Annapolis to Baltimore to occupy a space owned by Sagamore. Launched in 2013, CWIST offers a virtual community where educators, parents and students can share maker projects and activities to do inside and outside classroom.
