Edthena Chromebook App
License: Edthena Chromebook App—Edthena, an online professional development and video coaching platform, has just released an app for Chromebooks. Edthena allows teachers to upload videos of themselves teaching and share it with peers and coaches, who then comment on the video. While the Chromebook app is free for Edthena users, Edthena itself costs a licensing fee. To inquire about pricing, visit the Edthena website.
MySimpleShow
Free!MySimpleShow—Looking for a new presentation tool? Here’s an option. MySimpleShow was created for the corporate world, but has been adopted by educators, as well. Why? You can create videos to explain and/or summarize concepts. Edublogger Larry Ferlazzo highlighted the tool in his blog last summer, writing that he loved the ability to “provide your own audio narration or choose [the] computer generated voice.”
This week in S’Cool Tools, we've got two free tools for you, chosen by the EdSurge team. If you’d like to be featured in our S’Cool Tools column, click here to leave your very own Teacher Case Study.
