DUE FOR AN UPGRADE: UpGrad, a Mumbai-based provider of online education programs, has bought CohortPlus, a Bangalore-based networking platform aimed at data scientists and product managers. Terms of the deal were undisclosed.
Both companies were founded in 2015. UpGrad made the purchase to improve its products with information from CohortPlus’ community members, according to YourStory. The company claims to have 13,000 paid learners and to have collaborated with companies like Google and Flipkart.
CohortPlus has over 31,000 members who use its platform to post questions and get assistance for job interviews. UpGrad claims to have helped 300,000 students and have over 250 hiring partners. This is upGrad’s third acquisition in three years following job skilling platform Acadview and online training software provider Pyoopil Education Technologies.
