Winnie, a San Francisco-based provider of an app that connects parents with daycare and preschool services, has raised $9 million in a series A round. Rethink Impact led the round. Reach Capital, Impact America Fund, Unusual Ventures, Ludlow Ventures, Afore Capital, Day One Ventures, Kairos and April Underwood participated.
Founded in 2016, Winnie claims to serve over four million users in 7,000 U.S. cities, growing 15 percent month over month, according to the company’s website. The app provides parents with information including availability, pricing, licensing status and parent reviews of preschools and daycare centers. Winnie has now raised a total of $15.5 million, according to Crunchbase.
Public and private investment in early learning is on the rise. Companies in this space to receive funding this year include Tinkergarten and MyVillage.
