We asked Dept. of Education Karen Cator if she had anything to say to readers following the re-election of President Barack Obama. Here's what she wrote:
Hello EdSurge readers!
In the first term, we developed and pursued multiple strategies for powering up our education system by leveraging technology. We have learned a great deal, especially that it takes intense collaboration to identify and solve problems.
We've made great progress, but have a lot more work to do over the next four years. We can't and shouldn't do this alone. Working with educators and leaders, entrepreneurs and investors, we will be better equipped to transform the way teachers teach and students learn. We need your help. Let us know what's working; what the barriers to success are; and how we can support your work.*
